A set of 1,912 barley lines (Australian and international genotypes/cultivars, research populations and controls) was screened at Toluca, Mexico against barley stripe rust.
Key Information

Disease resistance(s)
Barley stripe rust
Additional Information
Fifty-two percent of the lines showed high to moderate levels of resistance (0-50% disease severity), 18% were moderately susceptible (51-70% disease severity), 13% were susceptible to highly susceptible (71-100% disease severity), and 17% failed to germinate or were segregating or of winter types. Forty-five genotypes carrying high level of stripe rust resistance were identified that can be used in case of an incursion or as donor sources in pre-emptive breeding.
